What we do:

The UK Age Research Forum undertakes a range of activities to achieve its aims. It promotes the coordination and forward planning of research funding amongst its members through the following activities:

  • Analysis to identify strengths as well as gaps in the strategic research agenda including a forward look on societal, medical, cultural and technological developments to ensure that the research agenda is forward looking.
  • Expert Forum subgroups to address key issues
  • Facilitating collaborative meetings of the key funders of ageing research and regular communications with member organisations
  • Pro-active working with partner organisations, stakeholders, end-users and older people to promote the benefits of ageing research to the public and the scientific community in the UK.
  • Active external communications and events to promote the importance of coordinating ageing research including developing a website and a newsletter.
